So, tell us what you all think!
Include your opinion on graphics, price, proformance, and games. Or whatever else you want to add in!
I got my vote on the Xbox 360
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion...says it all.
Price is good, 300$, or 400$.
It's definitely a kick-ass system

Here's my quick breakdown...
Microsoft: They pretty much told old news that everyone already knew.
I liked how they actually played some of the games though, that was a plus.
I know as a PS3 owner/supporter, I was pretty anxious to see if Moore was going to be announcing MGS 4 on the 360 and if that was his tattoo or w/e, but thank god it wasn't

When they had that RE 5 trailer, in the beginning I was like "oh shit...i really hope it isn't...." but yea it wasn't! lol.
Gears of War (which everyone knew) is heading to the PC, how ever, the PC version is going to have more chapters/content then the 360 version, so that's kind of a blow to 360 owners. And of coarse, since PC's > Consoles, the game will run smoother and look better on a high end PC.
Most of the games he announced for the 360 for this year, are all multiplatform games, except a few (not sure all there names)
He announced a new 360 model, which is a Halo model made for hardcore Halo fans. The 360 is puke green, and comes w/ a 20gb hard drive. When he held it up to show everyone, there was a dead silence in the audience lol. The least they could have done was put the 120gb hard drive, but I think this new model kind of screwed Halo lovers who bought the Elite version only to find out, a Halo version was just announced.
Nintendo: Boring... they announced some gun controller for the Wii made for FPS, a Wii steering wheel for racing games like Mario Kart, and some fitness pad thing...I really didn't pay much attention to the Nintendo one since it was pretty boring...and all I remember are them showing videos you can find on youtube lol and blabbling about the Wii is all blahblahblah lol
Sony: It was mainly all trailers they showed, they didn't take the PS3 out and demo some games like in the Microsoft conference...well unless you want to count "Home". They showed some new features in Home which looked pretty cool to me.
Oh yea, Jack Tretton also mocked Kaz Hirai with the "riiiiiidge racer" thing lol which made me lol (all in good humor of coarse)
They announced Ubisoft's game Haze & Epic/Midway Unreal Tournament will be EXCLUSIVE to the PS3 until 2008 (Q2 I believe) which was a shocker for a handful of people. And also said how Unreal Engine will be utilized to take full advantage of the PS3's hardware.
Then there was a special guest Sony flew in...Kojima himself the creator of the Metal Gear Solid series. He said that this was his last MGS game, and confirmed that it was exclusive to the PS3
Sony did go through the multiplatform games that are coming out for the PS3 this year, but they also showed there exclusive titles which out numbered microsofts exclusives (i think)
Last thing they showed was the Killzone 2 trailer which got applauded for
Out of the 3 conferences, the Sony one got the most applauses and personally I think they stole the show and "won" E3
List of conferences from best to worst
1 - Sony
2 - Microsoft
3 - Nintendo

There's a rumor floating around that sony is planning to release 300 new titles in 3 months or so. That means they will have to release 40 new games a month in order to reach this goal.

http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/profile/show_...=BrianEk#signup"...the Sixaxis might as well be redubbed the Suxaxis."
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/738/738858p2.html"...Sony's only game offering was the TGS build of MotorStorm, which Alex is already knee-deep in comprehensive hands-on coverage for. Instead of duplicating that, we'll take a look at one last thing - possibly the most controversial aspect of the PS3: the controller. Prepare to be shocked though: we don't really like it all that much. True enough, you can go along with Phil Harrison's proclamation that it's already the industry-standard controller amongst umpteen-million gamers around the globe, but, arguably, that doesn't make it the best. Personally, we can't help but feel that the SIXAXIS (as it's now known) has been sadly neglected when viewed alongside the rest of the PS3. Compared to Microsoft's uber-comfortable Xbox 360 pad, the SIXAXIS feels cheap, plasticky, uncomfortable and disconcertingly light - almost as if it's going to fly out of your hands during those more extreme gaming moments."

Hey guys, I found an editorial that is pretty interesting. It's basically this editors opinion on how things are shaking up in the Next-gen market. I found it very interesting indeed. He is an editor in chief at a reputable gaming magazine. I thought you guys would like it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that everyone I talk to in the industry is down on the Playstation 3. I've even heard from some of my friends that work there that seem less than confident in Sony's ability to even compete - much less win - in the next-generation war.
It makes it tough to keep a balanced and critical view of how this console generation is developing.
I remember being at the Tokyo Game Show in 2005 with a crew of industry illuminati as we sat around and nit-picked Microsoft's 360 launch in a posh Tokyo hotel bar. At the time, I told them some of the things I had learned about Microsoft's plan of attack and that while there were some problems (as there is with any console), its strategy was solid. At the time of course, most of the chorus was one of negativity towards Microsoft's second console attempt.
While I won't dig too deep into the discussion, we did spend the rest of the night analyzing the various pitfalls and innovations that the next-generation would bring.
Those in the Sony camp pointed towards its experience and leadership in the console space and h ow it would not be easy to unseat. In 2005, I couldn't have agreed more.
In 2006, it is much more difficult to put in perspective. I've seen many in the industry go from doom and gloom for the 360 to an unbreakable belief that it simply can't be beat. I've seen people say that Sony brang recognition alone is enough to take it back to the top....regardless of price.
There are no easy answers here. We have to watch the battle unfold. Over the last year, the Xbox 360 has gone from demonized to canonized, and Sony has fallen from sure-fire winner to doubtful prospect. A year from now it could all be upside down again. I know I still see a strategy for success here with Sony, just as I did with Microsoft before it, but is sure does feel like the company is doing everything in its power to muck it up.
So much so, that I can't stop that sinking feeling in my gut that there is more to Sony's problem than mere rhetoric. We call them daily looking for answers to tough questions with none to be found. Developers speak of little to no knowlage of Sony's online plans and fear that incorporating these aspects into their games may be impossible. All these things do not sound like the seasoned market leader, a position that Sony has enjoyed for years. These are signs of a company is disarray.
I'm trying to keep my objectivity. I wish all three hardward manufacturers success. And as I have said before I think it's possible for any of the three to emerge victorious.
However Sony needs to stop talking a big game, and actually start acting like it is playing for keeps in this generation. Gamers want to know what their 600 dollars will buy them. Developers and publishers want to know why they need to invest tens of millions of dollars in creating games for the Playstation 3 platform, but all Sony has cultivated over the last six months is negative commentaries and hearsay that continues to breed distrust.
Save your judgements untill the entire case is heard, which in my opinion won't be untill the dust settles after the 2007 holiday season. But if Sony doesn't start showing us why we loved their hardware over the last then years, there will most certainly be hard days ahead.
Andy McNamara Editor in Chief

ps3 is delayed in europe untill march 2007. also, there will only be 400,000 consoles for launch in north america, and 100,000 in japan.

So what are you guy's opinion on what each needs to do to keep you interested in online play? I will break down a few things that I have learned....that you may or may not already know.
From the beginning, Microsoft made the online space a key differentiating factor between it and competitors Sony(which was late and unfocused to the online party) and Nintendo which ignored it altogether on the gamecube. Even though Sony and Nintendo have significant online strategies planned for the PS3, and Wii systems respectively, it is the 360 that is percieved by the gaming public as the system to get if you like to play games online. Is this justified? Between Xbox live arcade, the downloads, and the online Halo 2 sessions that most love, nobody is going to argue that live is not a fun place to hang out. But is it all it could be? Or what Microsoft itself promised it would be?
People wish that there were more games available. Since the release of the 360 last November and through the summer, the number of arcade titles Microsoft has promised has always been a moving target that they just couldn't hit.
Looking around at other aspects of Live, you start to see how Microsofts promises remain frustratingly unfulfilled. The company's promise that the service would be an entertainment hub for your living room has yet to come to fruition. Playable demos for titles such as Fight Night Round 3 and Prey have excited fans, but haven't always been smooth affairs.
Some take a long ass time to download, while others, like Prey's multiplayer demo, have been nearly unplayable.
Live has lots of bugs, which confuses fans of the original xbox because that service had very few problems. Microsoft's spring patch made using Live more bearable, and the company says a fall patch is in the works

.
Even with Trailers of movies and wallpapers (of already released movies...LOL) do not constitute entertainment in my mind. There are no direct downloads of movies, TV, or music. Although you can hook up your ipod or mp3....but the music store that J allard promised has not surfaced. Microsoft and MTV struck a deal in 05, for a Windows media player service named Urge, but it has yet to be unveiled.
The potential is there to merge these devices and services into Live, but intergrating them won't be as easy as flicking a switch where one day you don't have them, and the next day you do. And what level of Live membership will you have to have?
Whether or not these promises come to pass or not, perhaps the biggest hurdle the 360 has to face in fulfilling its capabilities is represented by the console itself. With only a 20 GB hard drive, as it stands the system is ill-equipped at best to actually house all of those demos, music, Marketplace items, and other media available....even the stuff thats online now...How many peoples harddrives are full? Imagine how fast the harddrive would fill up then? (which actually only comes with 13 GB free out of the box)
Experts have asked if a bigger capacity drive would become available but Microsoft does not want to answer those questions now.
Furthermore, some of 360's media capabilities, such as viewing pictures and video files, require that you have a Windows XP or Media Center PC. Microsoft says that these features will be enabled through its new Vista operating system (whenever that really comes out). However, the fact still remains that it is your PC that is the real entertainment Hub in the equation because it does all the heavy lifting and media storing, while your 360 is simply a remote node hooked up to your TV. Microsoft says that this setup is based on "consumer feedback" but the cynical person would say it's just an excuse to force you to buy a better PC. Which is exactly what it is in my opinion.
Regardless of what they have yet to accomplish, Microsoft promises that it has not even scratched the surface of what they intend to do with live...I hope they don't take TOO long.
Not suprisingly, Sony isn't sitting back and letting rival Microsoft hog the online limelight. The company has started what is called ED-i, or Electronic Distribution Initiative in order to compete with the Live arcade. Unlike Microsoft, Sony says that it will be providing first-party titles to ED-i as well as helping third parties. According to Sony, some of the games already created for the program due to their design and hardware requirements wouldn't be possible on the 360. Sheer boasting? Maybe not. Whaoo Games/Ninja Bee pres. Steve Taylor says that Microsoft puts a 50MB cap on Live games with a recommended size of 25mb. They do this because they want it to fit on the 64 MB memory card...??? That I do not understand. Sony will not have such restrictions to their ED-i games.
Nintendo, meanwhile is offering gamers the chance to dig into a slew of classic titles from its old library via its Virtual Console app. Reminicent of the old Sega cable (which I loved) Which to some is the only reason they want to purchase it.

What console was overrated or underrated the most and why? Also what series was overrated the most and why, and which specific game in the series paticularly made you feel that way?
The gamecube was the most underrated in my opinion because when talking about it people only talk about the bad games that came out for it or they talk bad about a game that was actually good.
Halo 2 won it hands down for me cause its only great aspect was online play, which isn't what I bought the game for, and people make it out to be a god amoungst games. Final Fantasy as a series deserves its glory except for FFX, when compared to the earlier FF's, it was downgraded in everything except for graphics.

Ok so lets obliterate this arguement. Who won? In the end, only numbers matter. I have calculated the total sales for each platform based on all their games that sold at least 1 million copies. It is quite clear who won and pretty clear who came in second and who came in dead last. Here are the results...
PS2 421.55 mil
Gamecube 79.92 mil
Xbox 59.08 mil
Take that all you xbox lovers/gamecube haters... Congrats to all you who stood up for PS2... If you want to readd the results feel free to. The link is
Game Sales. If you want to dispute that xbox wasn't out as long as the other 2 then compare Halo or Halo 2 sales to GTA: San Andreas sales for the PS2...

Im bored...
Ok...so once a day...you can nominate 1 of your favorite games and it will be added to the list...
Once we get 50 games...You vote for the game you don't want to stay on the list and the game with the most votes at the end of each round is eliminated from the list...Rounds will last a day or two, or when I get a sufficient amount of votes

First off, its called the Wii. How stupid is that? almost as bad as the virtual boy (think sim *shudders*). also, the only thing backing the damn thing is a frickin controller and 20 years of downloadable games. you know where
I go to get 20 year old games? a game shop or a bargain bin in the shop. the controller also, while looks kinda cool, is basically a light gun. nintendo is making a light gun specifically for it, noit realizing you can do the same damn thing nearly exactly with a reg. controller.
now my friend posed the arguement: but you can look down the sight and it feels like a gun, and mentioned Police 911. while that would be cool to have stuff like Police 911 on the Wii, actually Revolution cause Wii sucks, the thing is basically a waste of money (light gun controller).
also, the price is 200, meaning barely more than a DS, which has very subpar graphics and some really horrid games. nintendo is going for originality over graphics. that may be a noble cause, but even the diehard fanboys (i use that term loosely, i know few of them) say they only
might get a Revolution as a
second system. this means nintendo will lose a large portion of their didicated fanbase, others leaving to the superior 360 and PS3 crowds.
now i have nothing against nintendo as a company, but even though they claim to be very original, they rehash every ****ing game they get all the time.

they get a hit on an original title and say: wow, lets make a ton of $$$ by slapping the name on this and that because we made a buck. PERFECT EXAMPLE:
Mario!!!!!!!!
simply put, i do not want to type every damn game hes been in, but i counted and i stopped at about 100 or so. thats waaaaay too much.
also, they had 27 games on E3, only 2 of which publicized heavily. that sucks compared to pc and its spore and other stuff. i know it could be due to popularity, but come on. 27?
Nintendo is gonna be #3 again this time around.
