To the person who wants to learn to hack, don't listen to him. Visual C++ is a great tool to use but there are others out there. Such as Borland C++, Turbo C++ (from borland lol), and many other compilers. You also want to start learning to read ASM (you will learn the second you open olly dbg with starcraft attached xD). Try to learn some Win32 functions while your at it. And yes, you might wanna pick up C++ - How To Program, 5th Edition.
