The only fix i can think of trying is a system restore to back when you remember it working last. I cant physically see your computer so it makes this hard. I can give you drivers to use and install but i dont know what exactly your using and i dont want to give you the wrong ones.

What computer model are you using, is it Compaq Presario SR1505LA by any chance?

Ask your ISP In the meantime if you cant answer all those questions right now, disconnect any fax machine phone, or answering machine you have plugged in ANYWHERE in the house and see if your speed increases Connect Directly to the phone line in the wall, bypass any splitters Surge protectors or phone line extenders. Download the latest Firmware for your Modem http://www.56k.com/links/Firmware_Updates/ Select your Manufacturer. Download latest drivers http://www.56k.com/inits/a2z.shtml Let me know what happens.

when you click to download the themes, are you getting a yellow bar near the tabs saying "firefox prevented a theme from installing" if the site you are trying to download the theme from is not in the allowed list, it will not download.
