[SZ] StarCraft II Q&A Batch 55

Cidra just released Batch 55 over at Battle.net 5. In lore Protoss warp in their units and buildings from some far planet. Will there be any mechanic that reflects this such as a "warp out" that could act as a refund? We do not have any plans to include a warp out game mechanic. We have discussed the possibility of this in the past, but it felt too similar to the Terran mechanics of being able to salvage the structures. Be sure to read the rest and tell us what you think at the forums. View the full article

[SZ] Beta Pushed Back to 2010

Starcraft Legacy recently covered an event called "IgroMir", which by itself was interesting, check it out. Though the real news from this event is quite saddening. But if you know Blizzard, it won't really surprise you: Question from Audience: When is StarCraft 2 coming out? Chris Sigaty: Tomorrow (audience laughs) . Of course not. Normally at Blizzard we don't speak of dates. So far we're planning on making the beta-test next year. As soon as we feel that the game is ready, we'll release it. View the full article
  12. As you may have noticed, StarCraftZone has gone multi-themed! That's right guys, on the bottom right portion of the header is the option of three themes based on the three StarCraft 2 races. There are still some quirks to iron out, such as not appearing properly when viewing the forums. All other pages should save your selected theme as the default theme unless you change it in the future. Additionally, the World Wide Invitational taking place in Paris, France is nearly upon us. Though none of our staff was able to fly out for the event, we are aiming to bring you coverage as fast as humanly possible via our dedicated WWI Coverage page. Be sure to tune in for that as the event gets underway this Saturday! Lastly, expect constant updates to our Gallery and Game Information pages as new information slowly trickles out from the event. Stay tuned! View the full article
  13. Blizzard recently updated the official StarCraft 2 website with new information regarding the Zerg's homeplanet, Char. Statistical information is given and a brief synopsis of the charred landscape the Zerg call their home. Char was formerly one of the thirteen core worlds of the Confederacy, but it is most notorious as the primary hive planet of the alien zerg. Upon its discovery, Char was found to be an inhospitable volcanic planet with thick ash covering most of its surface and tainting its acrid atmosphere. The hazardous environment is further intensified by extremely high levels of cosmic radiation from Char's volatile pairing of binary stars, a class VI F0 sub dwarf orbiting an M8 irregular variable. Char's elliptical orbit means whole regions of its sunward face can become molten seas during a close approach, with temporary islands forming in them due to rapid cooling as the planet swings away to the frozen outer reaches of the system.
