the reason you cannot win life time vip any more is because when some 1 would "win" the person who did the contest would buy them a lifetime so thus you cannot win lifetime vip if it is not available. Fail.

If you mean that text that currently says "Member" under your avatar, then you can already change it.

 

Go to your user CP > Edit Profile Information > The field that says "Custom member title"

Jeez people are slow to understand what a simple thing ghozt is saying. All he is saying is there is no more lifetime VIP membership. The current ones will not be affected by this new change. This goes into effect effective July 01, 2008. (so purchase your VIP before inorder to get lifetime VIP.)
