///M 75 Posted July 16, 2009 Pretty sweet, I bought me an Aurora Alienware. Keep in mind Im not the kind of person that will build a computer or all of that. Anyways.... just thought I'd let you know. Bought it for three reasons: One I'm tired of my laptop, two I want to play Starcraft2/Diablo3 and Three I always wanted an Alienware they look sexy thats all I really care about. Being able to do what I want to do with my computer and liking it. :) I got it in Black and Blue... cant remember if it was aqua or dark blue, my girlfriend picked the colors. ShadowScourge 61 Posted July 17, 2009 You only have 2gb of ram? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...mp;Sku=C13-6084 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...p;Sku=O261-8038 HIGHLY reccomend upgrading to AT LEAST 4gb. Those are linked. If you can afford it, go higher. o_o Share this post Link to post
///M 75 Posted July 17, 2009 hah... All i need is my wc3/d3/sc2/dirt2 2gb is enough Share this post Link to post
ShadowScourge 61 Posted July 17, 2009 Vista takes up 1gb already... With 2gb, you can't even load up cd images at a decent rate. I'm running my bare minimum: IM, music, and browser, and i'm use 42% of my 4gb memory... There's nothing wrong with 2gb, but just a friendly reccomendation to bump it up a bit. :o SC2 and D3 will have comparable or better graphics and engine than WoW, which means more memory. The system req. for WoW is listed below. Minimum: 512 MB RAM (1GB for Vista users)Recommended: 1 GB RAM (2 GB for Vista users) Either way, it's up to you. :o Share this post Link to post
///M 75 Posted July 17, 2009 I understand your trying to help and all but keep in mind Im also working 48+ hours a week, and I have a girlfriend. Ill play a game once in a while. Even if I wanted to upgrade i wouldnt know how haha :o Share this post Link to post
JoshJayK 16,648 Posted July 17, 2009 Hmmmmmm. Now you're making me want to get better. But could those work on my laptop? Share this post Link to post

ShadowScourge 61 Posted July 17, 2009 No, you're going to have to get laptop memory. And it's usually harder to open up and mod a laptop, although completely doable. Share this post Link to post
///M 75 Posted July 18, 2009 ... alright , if my computer doesnt run as well as I want too I should buy one of those ram things right? theyre like 40 bucks and i just take out my old one and put the new one in? right? Share this post Link to post
ShadowScourge 61 Posted July 18, 2009 Well, if you try to open up too many things and it slows down alot, i guess? o_o Come back and ask people if/when that does happen. :D Share this post Link to post
Magic Bitch 126 Posted July 18, 2009 You only have 2gb of ram? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...mp;Sku=C13-6084 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...p;Sku=O261-8038 HIGHLY reccomend upgrading to AT LEAST 4gb. Those are linked. If you can afford it, go higher. o_o for what if he isn't running t 64 bit he wont be able to use all 4 gigs, and on top of that 2 gigs is just fine for vista 32 window 7 32 even better. so 4 gigs really isnt needed most people wont even use more then 32% of there ram at one time. When will people learn only time you need to worries about ram is when your under requirements 3 gigs is the max you can run on 32 bit. even thou if you do the math 4 gigs should be able to be used in 32 its a Microsoft thing. your fine with 2 gigs don't listen to people that they don't know what there talking about. ShadowScourge 61 Posted July 18, 2009 ...Thanks for insulting me. Truly mature. Especially without good English. It makes you seem like you know what you're talking about. Alot more than me. Share this post Link to post
Ruler of War 169 Posted July 19, 2009 Upgrading a laptop (at least the ram) isn't that hard.... most of the time you simply undo two or 3 screws on the bottom and pull out the little plastic plate and insert the ram accordingly... at least thats how it is with the 4 laptops laying around my house..... ShadowScourge 61 Posted July 19, 2009 Okay, yea, it's not that bad. I just hate taking off the bottom. >_> Share this post Link to post
