This is called HDR Imaging...

 

Basically I took one picture and took 5 exposures.

 

I took the each exposure at a different ev value. 0 is what you would see in real life (usually)

 

When you go to a positive number, it keeps the shutter open longer, (or widens the f step or lowers the iso) so it captures more light. If you go to a negative number, it captures less as it does the opposite of the above.

 

So by taking ev positive, it makes the things that are normally visible washed out, and the things that are dark (shadows) lighter so you can see them as if you looked at them normally. Taking the ev negative means the things that are too dark to see become darker, and the things that are too light become visible. Basically, you are capturing the highs and the lows. If you take hot water and cold water, and combine them together you get warm... That's kind of what I am doing. You grab the detail from each then combine them.

 

To combine them i just used: Photomatix Pro 3.2 (64 Bits)

it was hard between the 1st and the 2nd one, they have this nice vibe to it. reminds me when I was young I don't know why.
