paprik123 0 Posted September 16, 2009 Hi Guys, I would like to ask you about how to translate Diablo 2. I have Diablo 2 opened, I got mpq editor who did it for me. Now the questions: where are all text files for all characters, or the game itself? What kind of files are they? are they different than txt files? Does somebody of you try to rewrite the text and use it in the game? did that work? can somebody explain the process, how to do it? The reason why I wanna find them is that our team wants to make voice overs for whole game. Not english, but czech... so what we need is extract all text files. Thanks you for any help. If there is any tool I need for that, pls let me know as well. I am appreciated! Share this post Link to post
paprik123 0 Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) Ok Guys, its done! because nobody helped I figured it out by myself. Just little help for those who doesnt know how. You have to download mpq editor: http://www.zezula.net/en/mpq/download.html it opens all mpq files in Diablo 2 All wavs dialogs are in d2speech.mpq and for expansion pack its d2xtalk.mpq grab one of those files and move it to mpq editor, click ok and folders are open, then right click on folder and extract. When all your job is done and all wavs has got your lang, you have to open files same way, delete all original wavs in mpq editor, (just select all and delete), and grab and move your new wavs with same names as original ones to the same place in mpq editor. You just switching old files by new ones. Everything must be done in mpq editor, dont do it in total commander or anything else, because game use special coding! And all yours wavs files must have same names as original ones and 22khz, 16bit, mono! otherwise, you game will speak in extremely slow motion. Once your files are set in folder... just close mpq editor and run game. If you are looking for texts, they are all in xxx.files! you can extract them and open in notepad, office, pspad. I found them in these 3 files: 0000000016, 18, 20 ... for whole game. good luck Edited September 30, 2009 by paprik123 Share this post Link to post
