Laptop suggestions

Recommended Posts

So after many years of asking for socks for Christmas has finally payed off. My parents have offered to buy me a laptop since mine is currently broken.

I'm looking for a pretty good laptop that can generally handle video games like TF2, SC2, Borderlands ext. I have a pretty good budget to buy a laptop. and wanted to know if you guys had any preferences or suggestions

Also I'm kind of looking at some macbooks but don't know if any could handle SC2 very well.

Get an alienware laptop bud, i've got the M11X r2 and plays SC2 on high settings, borderlands on high, it will blitz any game without fail, L4D2 on high, so Tf2 will not be a problem, cost me £1050 8 months ago so price may have gone down a bit now, turns heads at uni too :D

Anything but this. Alienware in general is extremely overpriced for the hardware it includes, and generally can be built for a fraction of its original price. It's pretty much just dell + eyecandy.

What's the budget? My brother uses a MSI GT683R and he plays SC2 and BFBC2 avidly at near max graphics with little framerate issues (I've watched him play before as well, it's quite nice).

Here are the specs:

Processor: 2GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM

Memory: 12GB RAM

Storage: Two 500GB hard drives

Optical Drive: DVD±RW

Screen: 15.6 inches (1,920x1,080 native resolution)

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M (1.5GB)

Weight: 7.7 pounds

Dimensions (HWD): 1.8x10.2x15 inches

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium
