Try to first delete the index.html on the website and then upload yours. Also, make sure you are using the correct index.html on your computer. Make sure it is spelled exactly "index.html" with a lowercase i.

You can start learning some basic HTML here, however I personally think it is better to teach yourself it. Even after you master the basics, there is so many more things to use and so many different directions to go in. Don't expect to learn HTML over a period of 2 days and make a website as appealing as my clan website. It takes a lot of time just messing around with features and teaching yourself how to use them efficiently.

There are so many different ftp clients it isn't even funny. I use FireFTP which turns firefox into a ftp client.

Download any FTP and upload the HTML files to your host.

I have the recording program for mac, so I doubt you would want it. I remember the one you are thinking of though; I used to use it.
