Comp Help

Recommended Posts

Ok so my comp has been going really slow. Slow in many ways such as before I could play SC and minize when needed easily, and now when i minimize SC to my desktop it takes like 15 seconds or more for my my desktop to show clearly. Sometimes I get a virtual memory to low message which I think is the problem, and sometimes I think of just buying a memory stick of ram or w/e. Im pretty sure its not a virus because my anti virus is pretty good. If theres anything that could help me to get my comp going faster (everything that has pictures now takes longer to dl compared to before) would be awsome. Also I deleted alot of programs to see if that was it but didnt help. Im thinking its got to do with the virtual memory thing but im not very computer literate. Please if you can help or profive any info ill be thankful.

(if your gonna say stop watching porn, which I dont just dont post or try to be funny, im being serious!)

Thx !

If you think it is your ram then test it. If you have a store nearby that will do it for a decent price I would let them check it. There is software that will check it though. It will take awhile to run the software. Here is one and here and Microsoft has one to. I would run ccleaner, run sfc to. Even though you might be clean I would still run housecall. I would check my hard drives for errors. Check out what programs you have running at startup to. You can use Startup Control Panel or Startup Inspector for Windows. I would run task manager and see what processes are running and if you are not sure of any look them up at http://www.processlibrary.com/ or at http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintas...processlibrary

Several things can cause that. A program can, virus could cause that, bad ram could, your virtual memory settings could have changed and more. Is the virtual memory settings set on System managed size? If not you could try to set it to that, that is the default. Look at this, here is something else you can look at. I would leave it on the default and would check out your processes and all the stuff I said in my first post.

My comps did that too... try to specify the problem. Open task manager, and go into processes, if one process is taking up an abnormal amount of cpu or memory, then i might be able to help, seeing as this has happened twice, one on each comp, and both for different reasons, yet having the same effect.
