Or you could set up your own using your home internet connection (like I used to do), or even better, get webhosting from XGhozt at purgehosting, and have him host it. (What I do now). One user proxies are very fast, and if you set it up properly, ppl who can see what urls you browse think you're editing your home website :P

What type of RAM do you want? In general, I'd check out TigerDirect.com, they have really low prices, especially on RAM. As for antivirus, I highly recommend Avast. Avast is free, fast, and has never failed to catch anything I've thrown at it. I prefer if over every paid antivirus solution I've ever tried.

It's not a hardware issue if his xbox and all his other devices stopped working. If only one device can use the internet at a time, it's also possible that the router isn't functioning properly, and may need to be replaced. Speedskater, if you could give us any more information, it'd be really helpful...

Eh...that definitely shouldn't be the case unless he's using modified firmware, no typical router will allow turning the web interface off outside of the box. He could just do a hard reset of the router :/

o.0 you restored one computer, and it knocked out your entire wireless network? sounds like you need to take a look at your router settings. what device(s) specifically are you using? to get to your router settings, go get an ethernet cable, plug one end into your router, and the other into a laptop. This should allow you to browse to http://192.168.1.1, where you can change your router settings. If that doesn't let you look at your settings, or you can't remember the password, you'll need to reset the router, which I can help with.

I've seen something similar to this before on youtube that claimed clicking a link with some extra parameters in it would give you "HD Youtube". What it really did was change the file format youtube was playing it in, the increase in quality was barely noticeable.

Yeah, it actually does work, I've done it myself twice. Basically, "Freezing" the hard drive will actually shrink the small parts inside, making everything fit together properly for a bit.
