Lost Prodigy 158 Posted April 24, 2008 Since you're only using 2 gigs of ram, XP 32bit (normal) will be fine. NEVER GET VISTA. EVER.... NEVER EVER EVER IN FOREVER. XP supports up to 3.5gigs of ram, if you want more than 3.5 just get 64bit XP, never vista.. For your case, you should upgrade about 20-30$ and get the Antec 900. I have it, and I love it. Other than that it looks like you've got a nice setup. Share this post Link to post
DragonLotus 0 Posted April 24, 2008 (edited) Hmm.. I thought I sad I was getting x2 of the Corsair (2X1GB). Sorry if I didn't put that. I'll think about the case. Thanks :D. And I know Vista sucks... but it can recognize 4 GB of RAM. EDIT: Oh yea. I forgot to mention. I'm also getting Vista for the DX10. I have an 8800 why not use it? Lost Prodigy 158 Posted April 24, 2008 Vista is not worth the bugs man... MS already gave up on Vista, and is moving onto Windows 7. Just get XP 64bit... You can go for Vista if you want... But I would suggest getting ALOT more ram and CPU. Atleast 6 gigs of ram an a 3mhz CPU To put it into perspective. Linux runs about 50 megs of ram on system files XP runs about 100-200 megs Vista can run 1 gig on system stuff alone... Share this post Link to post
DragonLotus 0 Posted April 25, 2008 Ah. Ok. I see your point. Thanks. And about the Antec Nine Hundred case, its huge and roomy with good cooling right? Its approximately $98 on their site. My brother has an Antec case and its slick. Share this post Link to post
Lost Prodigy 158 Posted April 25, 2008 It is a little bulky, but you can't beat its cooling and space. The thing I really like about it, is it has controlable fans. On stock low settings it's pretty quite, and even on stock high, it's not over powering. It looks pretty sick aswell, and I love it because it not like fort knox to get into, but it is a very sturdy case. Only downside I see is, It's a bit heavy. Fully loaded mines about 20 lbs. 18 of it is that sweet ass metal case. Share this post Link to post
Lost Prodigy 158 Posted April 25, 2008 No problem, hit me up anytime if you need help! All I can say is, do a little more research on OS's and see what fits you, from what I can tell you want to get the most you can out of you're system. Vista will give you Dx10, but at the cost of a lot of system resources Xp will give you a lot of system resources, but no Dx10 But what it comes down to is, are you willing to sacrifice a lot of ram and CPU speed, for graphics that are just a little bit better than xp?
