Kenshyn 638 Posted November 1, 2008 I did this, and it gave me a new IP. 1. Go to Start/Programs/Accessories and locate the "Command Prompt" shortcut. 2. Right click the Command Prompt shortcut and select "Run as Administrator" from the drop down menu. 3. Continue with the Windows XP/2000/98 directions below at step 2. Windows XP/2000/98: Release/Renew your IP address and Flush the DNS Resolver Cache: 1. Go to Start then Run and type the word "cmd" (without quotation marks) in the Run box. A DOS window should open on screen. 2. Type: "ipconfig /release" (without quotation marks) in the DOS window. 3. Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been released. 4. Type: "ipconfig /renew" (without quotation marks) in the DOS window. 5. Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been re-established. 6. Type: "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotation marks) in the DOS window. 7. Close the DOS window and attempt to make a connection. Share this post Link to post

Vengeance 0 Posted November 2, 2008 Here is a way to change your I.P. and this applies only if you're using a LinkSys router. 1.) In your internet browser go to, http://192.168.1.1/. (Normal username and pass should be admin///admin or administrator///administrator) 2.) Click Status, then click "DHCP release". 3.) Unplug your modem. 4.) Click "Setup" and then, "Mac Address Clone". 5.) Select "Enable" by ticking it and then click, "Clone". 6.) Then, save the settings. 7.) Plug your modem back in. 8.) And, you'll have a new I.P. address. How to change your I.P. in less that a minute? 1.) Click on "Start" in the bottom left hand corner of screen. 2.) Click on "Run". 3.) Type in "Command" or "Cmd" and hit the "Ok" button. * You should now be at the MSDOS prompt screen. 4.) Type "ipconfig /release" just like that, and hit the "Enter" button. 5.) Type "exit" and leave the prompt. 6.) Right-click on the icon, "Network Places" or "My Network Places" on your desktop. 7.) Click on the "Properties" button. * You should now be on a screen with something titled "Local Area Connection", or something close to that. 8.) Right click on "Local Area Connection" and click on the "Properties" button. 9.) Double-click on the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the list under the "General" tab. 10.) Click on "Use the following IP address" under the "General" tab. 11.) Create an IP address. (It doesn't really matter what it is. I just type in 1 and 2 until I fill the area up.) 12.) Press "Tab" and it should automatically fill in the "Subnet Mask" section with default numbers. 13.) Hit the "Ok" button there. 14.) And, hit the "Ok" button again. * You should now be back to the "Local Area Connection" screen. 15.) Right-click back on "Local Area Connection" and click on the "Properties" button again. 16.) Go back to the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" settings. 17.) This time, select "Obtain an IP address automatically" 18.) Hit the "Ok" button. 19.) Hit the "Ok" button again. 20.) And, you now have a new IP address. * With a little practice, you can easily get this process down to 15 seconds. *** This only changes your dynamic IP address and not your ISP/IP address. If you plan on hacking a website with this trick be extremely careful because if they try a little, they can trace it back. *** ~~ Another way for I.P. changing: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ * Change your Ethernet card mac IP. Get and use a freeware called, Bmac. 1.) You run Bmac. 2.) Change the last digit of your mac address by pressing the "Update" button. 3.) Then, restart your computer and modem. 4.) Your IP will be changed as a result. Share this post Link to post
