JoshJayK 16,648 Posted February 26, 2010 Goes over the Rule of Thirds, which is basically a way to get your focal more... focused. Works with photoshop just as well as photography. Used with permission from JohnnySix Rule of Thirds 1: Rule of Thirds 2(Also goes over how to crop an image into the rule of thirds on photoshop, which is allowed in our competitions.): Share this post Link to post
ViperSRT3g 224 Posted February 26, 2010 This not only applies to photography, but to filming as well. More importantly, it's far more effective if you have directional lines of focus pointing towards the center of the image. If a person were to be looking towards the right, their head would generally be on the left side of the image. You can see this done in movies all the time. Share this post Link to post
Zar 696 Posted February 26, 2010 This also applies to focal placement in gfx art, painting, drawing and pretty much any medium you work with. It is a good rule but that rule is made to be broken at times (not always.) Share this post Link to post
JoshJayK 16,648 Posted February 27, 2010 Yep! That's why I decided to post it, it applies to a lot of things. Share this post Link to post
