I Need A New Pc!

Recommended Posts

Aight. I'm currently on a laptop and can hardly play any games. I've saved up 1500 dollars to buy a computer I can truly use?

Anywho I want to be able to play Crisis on it's highest settings and what not. And I guess any other new game that comes out. I'm looking to have dual monitors/video cards (preferably the same) with 2-4 gigs of ram.

I've already gone to a bunch of sites and did my own build. But if any of you guys out here have anything you could show me that'd be awesome.

I'm also unaware at to how important motherboards are and literally what they do to the computer (Sorry....)

So if someone could clarify that for me. Lol.

Lol... I am selling my laptop... It plays pretty much every game out there and not laggy either... Its a damn good PC.

Okay. The mother board is like the transmission of a car. It connects the input to the output, and everything in between. (input being power from engine, out put being power to wheels...) Understand? The motherboard connects everything together. It holds the videocard, the processor, and everything else. It distributes power. It is the most important part of a computer. It transport information from the keyboard/screen to the harddrive and vice versa...

I hope that makes since. I tried to dumb it down :)

Yeah, that helps a lot!

But I can never understand which motherboard I should get...I thought about crossfire(I know what it does...I think)

because I want to play a lot of games and at least have a dual monitor(I'm hoping my final set up will have six monitors) But yeah I've been saving up for a HELLA long time.

Why would you need two or six monitors? I mean... I have a laptop and it has a screen on it. I also bought a 15 foot cable for my tv to hook to it as well, but I realized I've never used that cable lol... why would you need htat?

I do a lot of video editing, not to mention I just want to link them all up so it's like a big TV.

It's more of a luxury than a necessity. : )

You should come in around 15-1600 when you add the memory. I suggest you start off with 2 gigs now but make sure you get XP 64 bit so you can later support more ram.

For monitors you're on your own.

And when you get the cash get a second vid card (same one) (That motherboard supports more than one)

My bro bought a Thinkpad for about that much cash as you have, and it can run such games pretty well. I don't really remember if Crysis ran with max or not, I'll ask him tomorrow or the day after or whatever.

If you don't get what you're looking for here, BWHacks is always good with gaming PC's.
