I suggest we make the shoutbox universal again. I think it showed new members that GC was much more active that other sites. I believe that opening up the shoutbox will lead to more new members actually staying, not just leeching or making accounts then never coming back, because it seems like the only active people are now mods or VIP...

 

I'll miss the no rules VIP shoutbox, but I think it would be better if it was open to all.

You bring a good point here. But I have to agree that vip should just be about downloads. I mean the vip should be a "very important" part of Ghoztcraft. I mean what else does the vip have but the shout box and downloads. "Oh you can add your own song" yea people are going to buy vip for a profile song.... Come guys.

It was mainly switched from public to VIP because it took alot of the server's power to run it and slowed down the site significantly.

From what I can see, we also took a huge activity loss.

The only active people are already VIP......

From what I see were isolating the new members.

I think opening the shotbox to all will give new members a more easy transition into GC.

What about two seperate Shoutboxes? (Selectable in your profile) One for non vips, and one thats a no rules for vips?

 

Or maybe just a non vip shout box with no rules too... that would be cool.

As poply said running one takes alot of resources.

And a general no rules shoutbox would be too much.

So I guess i'll take a side on this one, open it up to the public.

The shoutbox is totally inactive when I'm on, it's only active when it's like... 1 AM? Also whenever I shout something, no one gives a shit about it. I think it would be better if it were public, at least some people would reply there to what I say.

Yeah this might help out, but I like it vip. I think the normal members just feel separated from the vips since there's so many vips. A lot of the normal members become vips too.
